The region
 
Estremoz is integrated in the Central Alentejo group of cities. Its in the Marble region, that also integrates the cities of  Alandroal, Borba and Vila Viçosa.
 
The weater

Well defined dry season: from June to September.  Annual rainning volume not relevant in the global country context (less than 700 mm/year). Considerable yearly termical variations;

The landscape

The city of Estremoz in an elevation that reaches  448 m hight. From this higher location you can enjoy the beautiful and wide rural landscape around the city and from the top of the castle, you can see some villages, the fields, and the famous "montes alentejanos".

Archeologic heritage

The archeologic heritage is wide and rich. There are Paleolitic, Neolitic, Bronze age, Iron Age, Roman and Visigotic stations.

In the rural area there is still very interesting contstruction heritage: religious buildings, farms and montes, founts, mills and windmills, inns, towers and lookout posts.
